SAG-AFTRA Member Benefits

A screenplay writer, Richard Romano possesses both film writing and acting experience. He has appeared in The Investigator and Welcome to Mooseport with his brother Ray Romano. Establishing a successful career in the industry, Richard Romano maintains memberships with the Screen Actors Guild.

Now known as SAG-AFTRA, the Screen Actors Guild supports an estimated 160,000 entertainment and media professionals. Union members receive assistance in areas of television and theatrical residuals, workshops, and online promotion. In addition, SAG-AFTRA partners with numerous organizations to help professionals gain access to casting directors and health and human services.

In terms of networking, the organization encourages members to get involved in MOVE, also referred to as the Members Organizing Volunteer Efforts. MOVE aims to establish solidarity among performers to strengthen protection of its members. The initiative hosts regular forums and events to promote interaction.
