Richard Romano, the brother of actor Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond), is the creator, writer, and assistant producer of the critically successful film The Investigator. In addition to his work in the film industry, Richard Romano also is a sergeant and investigator with the NYPD and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
The Fraternal Order of Police is an organization of sworn police officers dedicated to supporting its members as well as the people it serves. Founded in 1915 by police officers as a response to unfair working hours and wages, the Fraternal Order of Police is today the world’s largest organization of law-enforcement officers.
To accomplish its professed mission, the organization sponsors a multitude of programs and initiatives for the people they serve and the officers themselves. One of these initiatives is called “Take 25” and is geared toward promoting child safety. The Take 25 campaign focuses on a combination of police and civilian efforts, wherein local police stations will offer child safety classes for both children and adults and also encourage parents and authority figures to speak to the children in their care about safety procedures and concerns.
